Why Repurposed (Recycled) Mixed Media?

The heart and soul of my jewelry are objects or pieces that have literal meaning, but by molding them into my work transform them into emotional and abstract storytellers of my life. I explore the neighborhoods of Southeast Denver with a sense of being in the “now” to uncover and see - what is garbage to some – objects transformable into wearable artistic creations. I search for “discarded objects” that are calling out to be made desirable again. As a self-described Dumpster Diva, I love to recycle and transform old stuff into new by cutting, connecting, reworking, and fitting this waste into a creation with a new purpose.
