Leav Bolender: Artist, Therapist, Teacher
Home: What I Do

I create wearable art from found materials, (often called up-cycled, recycled, repurposed, and re-invented) that I scrounge from the alley-ways in Denver, Colorado. I am also developing a line of hand cut stone and silver work. I sell my pieces at The Denver Museum of Art in the Hamilton Wing Gift Shop, and at various Art Festivals around Colorado.

I teach Metal Clay Classes in silver, copper, bronze, white bronze and stainless steel. Beginner's are welcome, and classes run from 4 to 8 hours in duration. Supplies, tools and handouts are provided. I am a retired Licensed Art Educator and love learning with my students!! All of my classes are listed on http://www.meetup.com Click on the link and type in my 80210 zip code and Leav Bolender.

I  teach Up-cycled Jewelry Classes in mixed materials using fabrication and cold-join techniques. All of my classes are listed on http://www.meetup.com Click on the link and type in zip code 80210 and Leav Bolender.

I see clients for group and individual therapy. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have over 30 years of group facilitation experience. The basis of my work revolves around the Visual Journal, which each client personally creates as a treasure of their healing journey. No art experience is required. The groups meet twice monthly and the sessions are two hours in duration. The groups are "open-ended" i.e. work as long as you need and leave when you are ready. All of my groups are listed on http://www.meetup.com

I recycle! You name it, I make it new. Currently I am painting chairs from the alley. I make Colorado license plates, galvanized drain pipes, discarded copper and refigerator magnets into jewelry. Ask my husband about the 8 boxes of neoprene scraps he helped me haul from the curb . . . .
